“Balance and symmetry create harmony in this space, designed for an engineer and an artist who sought out beauty and function.”

Beauty is created by combining the elements of design, and this space is the perfect vision of that. The clients are a yin yang combination: an engineer who loves symmetry and an artist who's all about color and creativity. To balance things out, we created a space that combines the best of both worlds.
We ensured that the cabinets were symmetrical on either side of the hood, and added glass transom cabinets with interior lighting to make use of the generous ceiling height.
For the artist in the couple, we went with milky painted tones and a soft white glaze on the oak island, which really brings out the clean lines and muted tones of the rift cut oak. And for the engineer, we made sure to maximize storage and organization with dowels for pots, vertical dividers for baking sheets, and cutlery drawers and door spice racks for easy access to everything you need.
