I was brought into my client's dated kitchen, although I loved the light pouring in through the walls of the windows.. To create a classic and grand feel, I chose an off-white, almost gray, inset door style for the stacked cabinets that matched the 14-foot ceilings. Glass accents gave the kitchen an open and airy feel. The antique professional-style range, four feet in width and matte black, became the focal point of the kitchen, so I incorporated matte black accents into the True appliances and Waterstone faucets.
We also custom designed a sloping hood in a zinc finish with brass banding to bring brass accents into the lighting. The counters are all natural stone, with one in soft white and gray accents and the other in soft gray with white veins. The resulting space feels like it has been in the 100-year-old home forever, while also maintaining a modern feel with warm touches throughout.
